aftercare instructions

Congratulations on your new tattoo. The simplest healing method often produces the best results, so your main job is to let your skin recover while keeping the area clean and protected.

  • Wash the treated area gently 3–5 times a day (every 4–6 hours) with lukewarm water using a disposable paper towel, gauze, or cotton round.

  • Pat the area dry and apply a thin layer of the barrier cream provided to you.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure during the healing process.

  • Do not apply makeup or any other products to the treated area for at least 10–14 days.

  • Avoid excessive sweating, swimming, or submerging the area in water during the initial healing.

What to expect

Immediately after your procedure, the tattooed area may appear darker and more defined than the final result. This is normal and will gradually soften over the first week as healing begins. Mild sensitivity, similar to a sunburn, may be experienced, but discomfort is usually minimal.

Some flaking or scabbing can occur. Do not pick or scratch; let any dry skin come off naturally. The complete healing process typically takes 6–8 weeks. During this time, the pigment may lighten and soften. Wait until the 6–8 week mark before scheduling any touch-ups or adjustments, as this is when the true color and healed appearance are evident.

What to avoid

  • Do not use soaps, shampoos, or cleansers on the treated area for the first five days.

  • Do not pick, scratch, or peel dry skin or flakes.

  • Avoid petroleum-based products like Vaseline or Neosporin while healing.

  • Do not apply makeup, anti-aging products, AHAs, retinols, bleaching creams, or acne treatments to the treated area.

  • Avoid threading, waxing, or hair removal on the treated area until fully healed.

  • Avoid exercising or activities that cause excessive sweating for at least two weeks.

  • Avoid swimming pools, jacuzzis, or prolonged water exposure for two weeks.

Long-term care

Once fully healed, sun exposure can fade or alter pigment. Apply sunscreen to protect the area and consider hats or sunglasses for added protection. Be cautious with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, or laser hair removal, as these can change the appearance of the pigment.

Any follow-up adjustments or touch-ups should be scheduled no sooner than 6–8 weeks after your initial procedure.

There are no implied or written guarantees if aftercare instructions are not followed. Following these guidelines will help you achieve the best possible results for your cosmetic or paramedical tattoo.
